Vacuum device

This device is used to create a vacuum around an asphalt sample to determine its bulk density in accordance with DIN EN 12697-5 or TP Asphalt. A heated and granulated asphalt sample is placed in a pycnometer. The volume of the void-free sample is determined by covering it with water as the test medium. This system applies a vacuum to the pycnometer, allowing the water to penetrate any remaining voids. The bulk density of the asphalt sample is calculated from its mass and volume.
