On the Tactile Quality of Ideas

The value of working with physical models is often underestimated—especially given the possibilities offered by the digital world. Since humans are analog beings, a physical model allows us to gain insights that cannot be experienced digitally.

The model-making workshop provides the freedom to explore materials and transform ideas into three-dimensional objects. A variety of materials and Manufacturing Technologies are used in this process. Here, cardboard, wood, rigid foam, acrylic glass, stone, concrete, and other natural materials are cut, sanded, broken, polished, scratched, grooved, stretched, assembled, dried, glued, and screwed together.

Step by Step Toward the Goal

The model-making workshop is currently under construction. There is a selection of machines that will be available to students after they receive training. In the future, the workshop will be expanded to include CNC machines and additional workstations.
