Vacuum Rotary Evaporator

The rotary evaporator is used to recover the binder bitumen after extraction by the asphalt analyzer. The method is suitable for road construction bitumen and polymer-modified bitumen and is required when the binder content must be determined by recovery and/or binder properties must be analyzed. The road construction bitumen or polymer-modified bitumen is first dissolved in a solvent (e.g., perchloroethylene). The binder is recovered from the filler-free binder solution via vacuum distillation using the rotary evaporator in accordance with DIN EN 12697-3.
