Ductility Tester

This device is used to determine the force-ductility of bitumen in accordance with DIN EN 13589. The force-ductility curves obtained in this manner are to be recorded and stored for both road construction bitumen and ready-to-use polymer-modified bitumen between 200 and 400 mm across the entire range of elongation technically possible with the device.

Furthermore, the device can be used to determine elastic recovery, which is currently standardized only for modified binders. In this test method, a bitumen sample is subjected to longitudinal elongation, similar to the ductility test. However, the sample is stretched only to a filament length of 20 cm. The filament is cut into two half-filaments with scissors. After 30 minutes, the distance between the ends of the two half-filaments is measured.
