Another farewell post from Mexico to round off the semester. The semester has been over for 3 weeks now and after a short stressful phase of exams and farewells, it all went by very quickly and, as always, it doesn't feel like a whole semester. Of course, there were a few farewell evenings and parties at the end, which I have recorded in this article. All in all, I can say that it was a very nice time and I can highly recommend a semester abroad to anyone, especially at UDLAP in Mexico. Dia de Muertos in Oaxaca:
Unlike here in Germany, the Day of the Dead is celebrated here in Mexico and the cemeteries are also opened to tourists, with large stages being set up in the City, making it all look like a big celebration.
The favorite foods of the deceased are brought to the graves, where they traditionally sit down with the family and listen to music.
We also visited Monte Albán, a Zapotec archaeological site located just outside the City.
Here is a short UDLAP campus tour from Mexico.
As the area of the campus used to be a farm, there are also older, very beautiful buildings and lots of nature.
The campus looks like something out of an American movie and is always kept in top condition by many gardeners.
There are many sports fields on campus and a free fitness studio as well as a swimming pool.
The university team is playing a football match there today, which I will also share some impressions of, and I will give you more details about the campus in the coming weeks.
