Study with a view
Gate15 ("a House for and run by students") has come up with a great program for the exam phase: Study360. This is a cooperation between Gate15 and 22 cool locations to offer students pleasant and productive places to study. Among others: the MAS, the De Koninck Brewery and the Bosuilstadion.

You also have to work and study hard between the holidays, because from January 6th it's exam phase 2.0 in Antwerp.
Two presentations and three written exams are coming up and need to be successfully mastered.
"Merry Christmas everywhere..."
The Christmas market in Antwerp has been open since December 7th. Beautiful to look at and lots to experience, including a kind of light show in front of the Cathedral of Our Lady.
Work, work... All day long.
The semester is slowly coming to an end and exams are approaching. But organization is everything and so this phase of the semester abroad will also fly by.

It was a lot of fun and even though the event is mostly in Dutch, you understand more than you think!

"If it were summer now..." But no, it's winter in Antwerp for now.
We're really looking forward to the Christmas market here, but we're still longing for the last warm days... To counteract the winter blues, we are busy making plans as to which Cities and Christmas markets we really need to visit.
So: Christmas can come!

Let's talk about the KDG facilities!
The many and really very different campuses have one thing in common: the water dispensers. Pretty cool and pretty useful!
And for days that start at 09:30 and finish at 17:45, there are lockers everywhere that can be easily activated with your student ID. This way you can safely store all your provisions, laptop or sports gear and protect your back.
And STUVO takes care of the special activities. It organizes student excursions, takes care of students' concerns and hosts the Nachtkraker Festival once a year.
I'll tell you what that is after 28.11.
"And what type are you?"
This question kicked off last week and a new module: Project XL, Start up your StartUp. The MBTI test uses several questions and a self-assessment to determine your own personality type.
We then went to the House of Innovation where we worked on our first idea for our own small start-up.
Time is racing.
In just a few days it will be half-time.
Half of the semester abroad is over. Unbelievable... And my conclusion so far? A semester abroad is worth it!
You get to know new people, grow beyond your limits and sometimes just accept things as they are. Even if that's not always easy! "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger."
A detached house as a lecture room?
This became a reality at the Hoboken campus a few semesters ago.
Unusual and sometimes a bit cold, but somehow funny and relaxed.

New language? No problem.
We have "Dutch" every Tuesday from 6-8 pm. It's fun, you get to meet new people and the first few lessons are particularly easy for us Germans.

Algemene warenmarkt
Every Wednesday and Friday, Sint Jansplein sells everything your heart desires. And sometimes for just a few cents. From 8 am to 1 pm you can buy fruit, vegetables, pickled delicacies and lots of odds and ends. It's wild, but it's a lot of fun!
Exploring Ghent.
Just under an hour's train ride and you're there.
With the GoPass, train travel in Belgium is also very affordable (10 journeys for €51). But unfortunately only for people and students under 26!

I finally arrived in Antwerp last Sunday.
My home is perfect, the weather is more or less fine (a bit like at home) and the first organizational hurdles have already been overcome.
