Science Day at the HAW Kiel
We are taking part in the Europe-wide Science Day and providing insights into current research and teaching at our university. Our program for 26.9.2025 is set and has something to offer for everyone:
HAW Kiel's campus radio will be broadcasting live on Science Day 2025 from 10 am to 1 pm.
The best of Science Day will be available to listen to for three hours.
Where? Large lecture hall building at HAW Kiel, Sokratesplatz 6
Applied sciences can be experienced up close at the youth camp.
Visitors can try out how robots can play games and dance and immerse themselves in virtual worlds from 12 noon to 4 pm.

Go with the flow: "How does a bird fly? How does a fish swim?" is the title of the demonstration experiment, which can be experienced from 12:00 to 13:00 in the laboratory in room C12-K28 in the basement of building C12 (access via the north-east entrance, Moorblöcken-Luisenstraße intersection).
Experience the forces of nature from a safe distance/close up? You can do this in our laboratory!
The demonstration experiment runs every half hour from 14:00 to 18:00 (approx. 30-minute demonstrations, last run at 17:30).

Control a model wind turbine yourself - visitors can do this themselves in this demonstration experiment from 2 to 4 pm.
Where? Building C06, Room 1.25, access via Schwentinestraße 7
What does our electromagnetic environment actually look like? Visitors will find answers to this question in this demonstration experiment/workshop from 16:00 to 18:00.

The Computer Museum at HAW Kiel invites you to travel back in time through information technology.
When? From 14:00 to 16:00, last admission at 17:00.

How can I be hacked - and how can I protect myself? Answers to these and other questions about cyber security will be provided in the one-hour workshop at 3 pm.

Anti-Semitism and racism: a controversy about the vulnerability of post-migrant society - this is the subject of the lecture from 4 to 5.30 pm.
The Israeli-Palestinian conflict confronts the normative fundamentals of post-migrant society, its ability to shape the conflicts of multiple belonging and multiple discrimination inclusively.
