Process support for the development and implementation of a gender equality plan at Akaki Tsereteli State University (ATSU), Georgia
Brief description
In order to fulfill the funding criterion for Gender Equality Plans (GEPs) within the framework of "Horizon Europe", a GEP must fulfill four mandatory process-related requirements and take into account five recommended content-related (thematic) areas. As part of a bilateral cooperation between HAW Kiel and ATSU, a GEP is being developed and published for the Georgian university. On the one hand, the aim is to promote gender equality in higher education in the target region and, on the other, to open up new opportunities for research cooperation within the framework of Horizon Europe for both German and Georgian universities. In order to systematically promote structural changes at institutional level, the project creates a forum for the exchange of best practices and knowledge transfer between the partner universities. The sustainable development and implementation of the GEP involves activities at two levels: 1. at the level of the organization, which provides the necessary statistical data and participates in the implementation of the measures, and 2. at the level of the project, which trains the gender competence and sensitivity of university members, provides information, offers counselling and initiates networking. It also analyzes the collected data in order to develop concrete goals, measures and indicators.
