Where is what located?
The library's book collection is divided into freely accessible media, the so-called open stacks , and media that are located in the in-house stacks due to their age. The designations can also be found as locations in the library's online catalog and discovery system.
Open stacks
Onthe second floor you will find the shelving system with the shelfmarks Ast to Wis, as well as the current journals from the last ten years. This system is a so-called universal system, i.e. it includes (almost) all subject disciplines. The literature of the subject areas (Civil Engineering, Social Work and Health, Business Administration, Computer Science and Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Media, Buisness) are united here under one roof. You can recognize a book from this collection in the catalog by the following shelfmark:
- Example: Bwl 20-1/1
Overview boards are located at the front of the shelves.
The reference collection is marked as such with a yellow sticker and cannot be borrowed! The latest journal issues are also located on the second floor.
On the 3rd floor you will find the former stacks from 1946and the university publications.
Magazine stock
The stacks contain older media from 1945 and earlier, as well as the old bound volumes of periodicals (from 11 years old).
The media in the stacks can be ordered via the online catalog. Please fill out an order form for journal volumes before 2001. This is available at the circulation desk.
Stacks orders are processed Monday - Friday at 10.00 a.m.. The ordered books can be picked up at the circulation desk approximately one hour later.
