Through the B-First Scholarship Program, the Hamburg-based Claussen-Simon Foundation specifically supports young people from families with no academic background as they pursue their studies. The program’s goal is to motivate and support scholarship recipients and to strengthen their personal and academic development.

Application: When and How?

From June 29 to August 2, 2026, first-time college students in all disciplines who will begin a bachelor’s or state examination program in the winter semester of 2026/27 or have already started in the summer semester of 2026, apply for a scholarship using the Claussen-Simon Foundation’s online form. Please note that you are only eligible to apply if you are in your first semester or earlier at the time of application.

What does the scholarship entail?

Through a monthly financial grant, the Claussen-Simon Foundation enables scholarship recipients to focus entirely on their studies. At the same time, it offers extensive non-financial support: The B-First Curriculum includes workshops, seminars, and individual coaching sessions for personal development and supports scholarship recipients in their daily university life and studies. In addition, all scholarship recipients are invited to participate in the Claussen-Simon Foundation’s numerous other events and support programs, where they can get to know other scholarship recipients and alumni.
