Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes- Application phase 2026

The German National Academic Foundation is looking for committed and high-achieving students under the motto "Scholarship for you"! From January 8 to February 12, 2026, students in their first and second semesters can register for the Studienstiftung's selection test. The tests will take place at the end of February7beginning of March in person at several locations in Germany as well as digitally. The best candidates will be invited to take part in a selection seminar.

Advancement scholarship: online application phase launched

The online application for the advancement scholarship - the study grant for experienced professionals - iscurrently open again. Prospective students and students can apply for an advancement scholarship until Monday, December 1, 2025.

Financial and non-material support

Scholarship holders receive 992 euros per month plus 80 euros book allowance (i.e. a total of 1,072 euros) for full-time studies and 3,045 euros per calendar year for part-time studies. The benefits are a lump sum and independent of income.

In addition, there is extensive non-material support: sponsored students can take part in numerous seminars on various topics. There are also regional groups on site and a digital network through which they can network and exchange ideas.

Applications can be submitted before the start of the course and up to the end of the second semester. There is no age limit for applications.

  • Hans Böckler Foundation: December to February 1 and June to August 1
  • Heinrich Böll Foundation: Ongoing until March 1 and September 1
  • Konrad Adenauer Foundation: Ongoing until January 15 and July 15
