Blended Intensive Programs (BIP)
The Blended Intensive Programs (BIP) are an innovation in the 2021-2027 generation of Erasmus programs. These are intended to promote the use of innovative learning and teaching methods and make use of the opportunities for online cooperation. A BIP is the mobility of a group.
As part of the BIPs, students and teachers can take part in a short physical group mobility (5-30 days) combined with a virtual phase (duration not specified) at an Erasmus partner university.
- Short stays at partner universities: Duration: 5 - 30 days physical mobility
- Virtual component: before, during or after the mobility, collaborative online learning, exchange and teamwork; simultaneous processing as part of the learning objectives
- At least 15 mobile student participants plus lecturers (e.g. 5 students and one lecturer from HAW Kiel)
- 3 ECTS for students
- Finance is provided via lump sums for accommodation costs for student participants (€ 79/day 1-14,) plus Green Travel lump sum of € 50 plus additional travel days, additional top-ups for special needs or fairer opportunities one-off € 100
- Travel allowance for lecturers within the framework of Erasmus guest lectureships (STA) by the sending university.
For the conceptual elaboration, at least 3 higher education institutions with an Erasmus Charter for Higher Education (ECHE) from 3 different program countries are required. Further higher education institutions or organizations from Programme or Partner Countries can optionally participate in a BIP. The physical stay of participants from partner countries must be financed by the sending institutions.
The sponsored persons/participants receive their funding from the respective sending university.
The coordinating university applies for funding on behalf of all partners to provide organizational support for the organization and implementation of the BIP.
A BIP takes place in cooperation with Erasmus partner universities, i.e. there must also be Inter-Institutional Agreements (IAA) between the universities in order for funding to be provided.
