Refurbishing / second life of battery cells for electric vehicles

Project title (acronym)

As part of the project, a diagnostic system for batteries for electric cars is to be developed that enables the subsequent, targeted replacement of a defective cell in a battery module.

Funding body

Gesellschaft für Energie und Klimaschutz Schleswig-Holstein gGmbH (EKSH)

Funding amount

135.200 €

Brief description

The project aims to develop a prototype that uses meaningful, measurable characteristics to create a comparative option for identifying defective cells within a module and replacing them with a suitable candidate from an existing stock. Furthermore, the diagnostic procedure developed will create a standard that could be used, for example, in the general inspection of electric vehicles, as the data collected will record characteristics of new, used and defective battery cells that can be compared with each other.
