Protection concepts in child and youth work & youth social work (SchutzJu)

Icon Social participation

Brief description

So far, protection concepts have only been implemented in individual organizational forms, but not across the board in the municipal infrastructure for children and Youth. The results of the previous joint project, SchutzNorm (2018-2021), which was also funded by the BMBF and which SchutzJu systematically builds on, also show that there are major differences in the specific fields. In addition, young people have so far hardly been involved in the development of protection concepts, although participation is considered a basic maxim of child and youth work. Against this background, the proposed transfer project SchutzJu will anchor the necessary knowledge about protection concepts and develop field-specific implementation models in cooperation with practice partners and in a participatory manner with young people. The project is divided into the following three Focus on:

  1. Existing knowledge of those responsible is collected
  2. Field-specific implementation models of protection concepts are developed - together with regional cooperation partners and professional associations and the young people there
  3. Based on the results, an online platform entitled "Developing protection concepts in child and youth work and youth social work" will be set up in a participatory manner with young people and in cooperation with professional associations, professionals, decision-makers and volunteers and anchored in the long term.
