SansAero

Project title

SansAero - Sensor development for aerodynamic investigations

Icon sustainable energy

Brief description

The project "Sensor development for aerodynamic investigations (SensAero)" aims to develop and test innovative, miniaturized MEMS sensors for the precise measurement of aerodynamic parameters on wind turbines. The aim is to replace previously complex measurement concepts with easy-to-install sensors that hardly affect the flow on the rotor blade. The sensors will be tested in the wind tunnels at HAW Kiel and accompanied by numerical CFD simulations. In cooperation with the German Aerospace Center and other research institutions, the aim is to create the fundamentals for future measurement campaigns on real wind turbines and to further increase the reliability and efficiency of wind turbines, particularly in Schleswig-Holstein.
