OceanHydrogen
Project title
OceanHydrogen - Feasibility study on tubular cell electrolysis with direct use of seawater for the production of green hydrogen
Brief description
The OceanHydrogen feasibility study investigates the direct production of green hydrogen from seawater using flow-through tubular cell electrolysis without upstream desalination. The aim is to evaluate technical, energetic and economic aspects of the process, including integration into offshore wind turbines and operation under fluctuating renewable electricity conditions. In addition to hydrogen, sodium hypochlorite is also considered as a by-product. The results will serve as the fundamentals for a holistic technology concept and a subsequent ZIM research proposal.
