Brief description

The aim of the "VerzOpt" research project is the production of distortion-optimized components in the LPA process - laser powder build-up welding - by calculating the thermal distortion that occurs using the finite element method (FEM) and optimizing the production strategy derived from this. The calculation of component-specific distortion data enables a reduction in the necessary test matrices for experimental investigations in LPA processes. The intended validation of the FEM analysis to increase the efficiency of the LPA process enables the transfer from the previously experimental to an analytical process design. This will enable the development of a systematic catalog of measures for the design of construction strategies and process parameters, which is necessary for a broader industrial application and strengthening of this market segment.
