Brief description

A sintering system, a 3D laser metal printer and a 5-axis milling machining center are integrated into the flexibly interlinked automated system. The sintering system enables the production of components for power electronics. Metal components can be built up additively in the 3D metal printer and machined using cutting processes in the milling machining center. The combination of additive and machining processes enables geometries that could not be realized with conventional processes. With the development of so-called gradient materials, components can be produced from several metals that have the physical properties of one material locally with flowing transitions and the properties of another material in other areas. Areas of application include power electronics, medical technology, maritime technology and mechanical engineering.
