Brief description

GARD aims to structurally promote the inclusion of the gender perspective in applied research and development in order to reduce gender bias in research, achieve better research results and strengthen the university as a place of innovation. In order to anchor the gender relevance check as a routine procedure at Kiel University, various measures are being implemented as face-to-face formats and virtual modules. These include

  • further training in gender competence for researchers from all departments and our six research focus areas
  • the provision of information materials
  • consulting services
  • the initiation of appropriate knowledge transfer to the Buisness and researching companies
  • the promotion of networking.

These measures are intended to firmly integrate thegender perspective into research and development practice in order to sustainably increase the quality and relevance of scientific results.
