Edu+Career - Study successfully and be fit for the job
Project title
Edu+Career - Successful study and fit for the job - Project to promote international talent for integration into studies and the job market
Brief description
Edu+Career aims to provide a holistic concept to support international students before and during their studies as well as during their transition into the job market. International students in Germany often face special challenges that affect both their studies and their career entry. A lack of cultural knowledge of the often highly formalized application processes and a lack of contacts in companies hinder the transition into the job market. This is where the Edu+Career project comes in. Measures to ensure student success are based on four pillars: the (technical) language pillar, the technical pillar, the organizational-academic pillar (including soft skills) and the social pillar (welcoming culture), which also extends beyond the university. Based on a survey of international students as part of the DAAD's Bintho study, tailor-made workshops on organizational and interdisciplinary skills are offered in order to increase academic success. In addition, pre-vocational skills are to be trained during the course. In particular, training is offered on the subject of job applications as well as individual counseling (Career Service for Internationals). The focus is on engineering degree programs (e.g. mechanical engineering, Electrical engineering and computer science, mechatronics) and social-health degree programs (e.g. childhood education, nursing, physiotherapy and social work).
