Brief description

As part of the project, scientific methods for the development methodology for load drones are to be researched under the Leadership of Kiel University of Applied Sciences in cooperation with TECCON Consulting & Engineering GmbH and Scuddy GmbH & Co. KG, which can be adapted flexibly and quickly to customer requirements. A software-based development process for (preliminary) design, construction and calculation, electronics and software is essential. A coordinated manufacturing methodology based on Industry 4.0 enables the direct implementation of products using manufacturing processes such as rapid prototyping. Customer requirements based on basic parameters can be integrated throughout the entire product life cycle using intelligent product management. This new approach to the entire development process is intended to eliminate the main disadvantages of the state of the art in aircraft development. In particular, the high development costs associated with low quantities and a long service life must be significantly reduced. Starting from a basic concept (modular system), cargo drones should be able to be adapted more quickly and flexibly to different usage scenarios, development times should be shortened and development costs and resources should be saved. Another long-term goal is to attract companies or expand the product portfolio of existing companies in the region and to train the relevant specialists at Kiel University of Applied Sciences. Proof of concept will be provided by two autonomously operating, airworthy prototypes with a payload of 100 kg, which will be developed in collaboration with industrial partners, designed as a test setup and manufactured in combination with all components.
