German as a foreign language (DaF)

Click here for an overview of the A1 and A2 German modules offered. Information regarding B1/B2/C1 German modules will be shared when available.
Information regarding Winter Semester 2025/26:
- German modules usually begin in calendar week 38, or the week beginning 15th September. These class-taught modules take place on campus.
- Language levels are usually offered in two parts (A1.1, A1.2 ) …
- Not all levels are offered every semester.
- There is a minumum registration requirement in order for a course to take place.
- There is often a waiting list for A1/A2 levels.
Registration:
- For A1/A2 level modules: online via the Module Registration Tool from 3rd – 10th September.
- For B1/B2/C1 modules: via email to the contact person responsible in the German Department.
- Exchange students (Erasmus…): for all levels in agreement with the contact person responsible in the German Department.
- For successful registration of our modules (apart from A1.1) we require proof of your language level. The lecturer will need to see proof before the module starts (language certificate, transcript of records, etc.).
Do you not have a certificate or are unsure what level your German language is? Please contact the German Department.
Requirements for module participation/examination:
- Your attendance from the first day.
- You have the course material (coursebook/workbook) with you from the first day of teaching.
- Mandatory attendance (80% minimum).
