Matthias Möbus is a professor at the Institute of Business Informatics, a member of the extended senate of Kiel University of Applied Sciences, and chair of the examination board of the Faculty of Business.

Matthias Möbus’s research focuses are on business process and workflow management, Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN) and Decision Model and Notation (DMN), digitalization and digital business, maturity models, as well as customer relationship and customer satisfaction management.
Selected practical projects by Matthias Möbus include:
Modeling and optimization recommendations for key, management, and support processes of over 150 companies (mainly from Northern Germany)
Project for prioritizing business processes to be optimized under limited resources
Digitalization of business processes for a craft business
Design and implementation support of business process management at a nursing service provider
Development of a customer portal strategy and implementation support for an IT service company including analysis, optimization, and design of service processes
Evaluation of service processes and development of related optimization proposals for selected patient areas in a clinic
Strategy development and generation of service offerings and processes to attract and retain customers in direct business of an insurance company
Development of a sales strategy for a telecommunications service provider
Proposals for further development of occupational health management at a bank, with special consideration of corporate culture, personnel, and procedural aspects
