Research and Development
The working groups at the institute pursue a number of long-term research priorities as well as changing current issues. The current topics and ongoing third-party funded projects are presented on the project pages.
A current research focus of the Materials Working Group is the development of metallic materials and material surfaces using additive manufacturing and in the field of corrosion analysis. In line with the interdisciplinary nature of materials science, we are prepared to tackle a wide range of topics.
The research of the Plastics Working Group is based on the extensive world of polymer materials, including but not limited to polypropylene (PP), polyethylene (PE), polyethylene terephthalate (PET), polylactide (PLA) and thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU).
Student projects are continuously offered in our current research areas. If you are interested, please contact us.
