Prof. Dr rer. nat. Malte Prieß has been Professor for Cloud Technologies since October 2024. He was previously Dean and Professor of Applied Computer Science at the DHSH University of Applied Sciences for eight years.
He teaches the modules Cloud Computing (CC), Web Applications (WA) and Advanced Cloud Computing (ACC) at the Department of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering and is currently involved in other modules such as Agile Development Methods (AEM) and Software Engineering (SEG). Professor Prieß plays an active role in several capacities at the ComputationWorld congress and is committed to supporting students in producing visible publications for the HAW Kiel. Furthermore, Professor Prieß is actively involved in developing server and cloud infrastructures at the Institute of Computer Science.

Activities (selection)
- ComputationWorld 2026 Congress: Prof. Prieß holds several roles at this IARIA conference. As a member of the steering committee, Prof. Prieß is actively involved in revising the conference programme for CLOUD COMPUTING. A meeting of the steering committee is planned during the upcoming conference to discuss the future priorities and direction of the conference. Furthermore, Prof. Prieß contributes to the scientific programme as a co-author of research papers. His first paper at CLOUD COMPUTING in 2025 was very well received by the professional community (Best Paper Award). Prof. Prieß also serves as a reviewer on the Technical Programme Committee of the parallel conference CROSS-SEC.
