Numerical methods for the ship design of efficient small ferries (WaterLinks)
Brief description
The aim of this project is to evaluate and further develop rapid design methods for efficient smaller ships and ferries. These ships can effectively and attractively expand and develop the transportation of people and goods in cities by water in a climate-neutral way. These methods are applied in the design of an efficient and emission-free passenger and bicycle ferry for crossing the Lower Schwentine. The scope of work accordingly includes the conceptual ship design and the evaluation of the digital design methods required for this. This will be accompanied by model and field tests based on a ship model already procured through an HWT small grant.
